Northern Rose Home Health is led by Kate Semmerling. After spending over 30 years in nursing and health care, Kate wanted to provide home health in a way that meets the unique combination of understanding the patient and the circumstances beyond the patient and treating both simultaneously.
Northern Rose Home Health begins with its nurses and therapists. Our staff must possess the knowledge and experience to provide our services at an elite level. All of our nurses are veterans, many with deep specializations, and all are considered leaders in their fields. Our nurses and therapists must possess the compassion, understanding, and sympathy and empathy to administer our services in such a manner as to make the patient and their families feel comfortable and secure in the care they are receiving. And, our staff must be able to inspire our patients to want to regain independent life as well to be leaders and continue to evolve the field of home health care. From the way we support our nurses and therapists to the way we support our families, we are smart, kind, and focused in providing the best care for our patients and their families.
Our goal is not just to help the patient recover, but, where possible, to return them to independent life. Our nurses, therefore, don’t just provide care, they engage with the patient. Our nurses and therapists develop a personal relationship with our patients so that the patient trusts and feel confident in the care they are receiving and also so that the patient is receptive to learning how to care for themselves.
Northern Rose Home Health also provides comprehensive disease management and training in a wide variety of areas.

You are eligible for home health care under Medicare, Medicare Advantage/PPO/HMO. Insurance, or Workman’s Comp if you are unable to leave your home without assistance and have been referred by your doctor.
Many of our patients come from Medicare, Department of Veteran’s Affairs, insurance, and Workman’s Compensation referrals to whom we are a trusted source of care and comfort. We have been repeatedly recognized as a top home health care provider and also have been recognized for excellence in service and care. We are very proud of the awards we have won. We are even more proud of another distinguishing characteristic that sets Northern Rose apart from other home health care providers. According to our statistics, we receive a significant number of referrals from our former patients and their families. There is no greater sign that we are fulfilling our mission than receiving a referral from a previous patient.
